Community Funding Scheme 2008
This page contains information about the Shire's Community Funding Scheme and how you can apply for funding. There are two key grant types; Quick Grants up to $500 and Community Grants for amounts up to $10,000. You can apply for a Quick Grant at any time and the Shire releases one round of Community Grants each year. If you intend to apply for a grant you must first contact the Shire’s Community Development Department on (08) 9191 0999 or email at cdo@sdwk.wa.gov.au to register your interest.
Some conditions apply and you should read the associated Community Funding Scheme policy documents and guidelines which outline the Council's priorities. The documents are available on the Shire’s website or from the Shire’s main administration office in Loch Street, Derby or at the Fitzroy Crossing administration centre on the corner of Forrest Road and the Great Northern Highway, Fitzroy Crossing. Assistance to complete your grant application form can be provided if required.
Council's current priorities are:
- Events, projects and services that contribute towards the general betterment of the community in the areas of art and culture, education, sport and recreation, youth, seniors, and health and welfare.
- That services are accessible and affordable for all residents.
- That community cultural activities are encouraged to assist in building identity within the Shire.
- That the grant money is distributed across a wide range of projects to ensure diversity of activities across the Shire.
Deadline Community Grants for the 2008/09 financial year have now closed however applications for Quick Grants are open all year. Notification
All applicants to the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley's community grant scheme will be notified of Council's in principle decision to allocate funding by 30th April 2008. Grant Money will then be available to successful applicants from 1st August 2008. How To Submit Applications
