What is the Role of Our Councillors?

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is served by a Council consisting of a President and eight councillors who spend their time voluntarily in looking at the best interests of the community. They are elected by popular vote and are readily available to ratepayers and other community members to handle enquiries and suggestions.

The Councillors work together as a team to represent the interests of the Shire as a whole. Once a decision is made by Council it is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer to see that decision implemented.
