Curtin Aerodrome
RAAF Base Curtin was opened by the Right Honourable R.J.L Hawke Prime Minister of Australia on the 11th of June 1988.
The Base is dedicated to the memory of the Right Honourable J.J Curtin Prime Minister of Australia from 1941-1945.
Constructed for F111 Squadron, the base covers a total area of 260km2. The fenced area of 19km2 incorporates the airfield including operational facilities (enhanced in 1990s) and domestic area.
Curtin Aerodrome is a joint user airfield, with a civil terminal and fuel farm on the northern side of strip. The main runway is 10000ft long x 130ft wide and the civil apron is limited to B737 size aircraft and below.
Civil jet services into Curtin recommenced on the 27th February 2007. OzJet operates the 106 seat, 737-200 service from Perth airport on Monday through to Thursday each week departing at 5.30am and arriving at Curtin Airbase at 8.10am.
