SHIRE OF DERBY/WEST KIMBERLEY ROAD CONDITION REPORT
As at 2:00pm, 19th May 2008

Due to the start of the dry season in the West Kimberley, motorists are advised of the following road conditions within The Shire of Derby / West Kimberley:

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley advise that there may be water flowing over some Shire roads. 'DO NOT DRIVE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH AND VELOCITY'

4 X 4 HIGH CLEARANCE VEHICLES ARE RECOMMENDED ON ALL SHIRE GRAVEL ROADS THAT ARE OPEN.

FAIRFIELD / LEOPOLD DOWNS ROAD

OPEN - From the Gibb River Road Turnoff to Windjana Gorge Turnoff

OPEN - From Windjana Gorge Turnoff to Great Northern Highway Turnoff.

Suitable for 4x4 Vehicles: Caution at Floodways and Creek Crossings.

CAMBALLIN ROAD, MYROODAH

Great Northern Highway to Looma Turnoff – OPEN –Suitable for 4x4 Vehicles: Caution at Floodways and Creek Crossings.

MYROODAH CROSSING (Fitzroy River)- OPEN -Suitable 4x4 Vehicles.

MT ANDERSON ROAD

OPEN – 4x4 Vehicles Recommended. Caution required.

NOONKANBAH ROAD

Great Northern Highway to Nookanbah Crossing – OPEN– Suitable 4x4 Vehicles. Caution at Floodways and Creek Crossings.

NOOKANBAH CROSSING – (Fitzroy River) - OPEN -Suitable 4x4 Vehicles.

SOUTH OF THE RIVER ROAD - Caution required. 4x4 vehicles recommended.

TABLELANDS ROAD, GLENROY ROAD & MORNINGTON ROAD

Suitable For High Clearance 4x4 Vehicles: This road may be closed for periods of time at floodways and creek crossings, Extreme Caution required..

The Road progressing east of Tablelands Station is a private station access road of Bedford Downs and is currently closed, contact this station for further details.

NILLABUBBACA ROAD

- Caution – SUITABLE FOR HIGH CLEARANCE 4X4 VEHICLES: Extreme caution at floodways and creek crossings.

RUSS ROAD & YURABI ROAD –

OPEN- 4x4 vehicles recommended.

OTHER GRAVEL ROADS AROUND FITZROY CROSSING TOWNSITE - OPEN

CHERRABUN ACCESS ROAD

FOSSIL DOWNS ROAD

ALL OTHER SHIRE GRAVEL ROADS

CAUTION REQUIRED, Suitable For 4WD ONLY

SDWK recommends a maximum safe speed at any time of 80kph and drivers should travel in accordance with the road condition at all times.
