Mosquito Fogging

22nd April 2009
The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley will be performing adult mosquito fogging during the week beginning Monday the 4th of May 2009 in the following areas:
  • Gibb River blocks and Industrial Area – Tues 5th and Thur 7th May 2009
  • Derby Townsite – Wed 6th May 2009

Fogging will only be performed providing weather conditions are favourable, and will be continued as required.

 

Please avoid direct contact with the ‘fog’. Close doors and windows while fogging is occurring in your area.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE  

The only effective means of protection from mosquitoes and preventing debilitating diseases such as Australian Encephalitis and Ross River Virus etc. is to use personal protection against bites.

  • Avoid being outside at times when mosquitoes are most active, from sunset until mid-evening and early morning.
  • Cover up with loose clothing.
  • Keep a bottle of repellent handy.

2009 Boab Festival Mardis Gras and Moonrise Rock Festival vehicle access to the Derby Town Oval.

Are you planning to trade or perform at the 2009 Boab Festival Mardis Gras and Moonrise Rock Festival? Do require vehicle access to the Derby Town Oval for the event?


All vehicle movements on the town oval - before, during and after the event will be strictly controlled by event marshals and vehicle owners/drivers are required to sign a Conditions of Access Agreement with the Shire of Derby West Kimberley. This agreement is in addition to normal trading permit requirements. Please download the forms below.

Partial Road Closure – Rowan Street, Derby. (unconstructed portion from Ashley Street – Mimosa Street, Derby)

Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley, pursuant to section 58 (3) of the Land Administration Act 1997 proposes to close a portion of Rowan Street, Derby.


The purpose of the closure is to close the existing road reserve between the intersections of Ashley Street and Mimosa Street. The reserve is superfluous to requirements and the closure will enable a new sewer pumping station to be constructed within an area of the current reserve to replace an existing temporary pumping station. The surplus land is to be amalgamated into the adjoining Reserve 34220 being Lot 823 which is vested to the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley for the purpose of Parks and Recreation. Details of the proposal are available for inspection at the Development Services Building – Loch Street, Derby and may also be downloaded from the link below.


Submissions on the proposal should be received by the undersigned at PO Box 94 Derby WA 6728 by 4.00pm Friday 22nd May 2009.
