Council News - August 2006Christmas Card Competition29th August 2006 The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley will this year depart from its normal practice of purchasing corporate Christmas cards and instead, hold a competition open to school aged children in the Shire to come up with some original designs. A cross section of winners will be chosen with prize money of $50 per winning entry and the designs will then be sent to a printer to produce this Shire’s own unique Christmas cards in time for the 2006 festive season. Formal invitations to enter have been forwarded to the major schools in Derby and Fitzroy Crossing however there are numerous smaller community schools within our Shire and a number of students who are home schooled or undertake schooling via Kimberley School of the Air. It is hoped that any child who has an artistic flair will take up the challenge to enter. Entry forms are available by downloading below or can be obtained by contacting Eva Paull at the main Shire Office in Derby on Ph: 91910999.
