Council News - July 2008INVITATION TO COMMENT - DEVELOPMENT GUIDE PLAN – LOT 61 DAMPIER DRIVE, DERBY24th July 2008 The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is pleased to release for public comment, a Development Guide Plan prepared in support of the future residential subdivisions of Lot 61 Dampier Drive, Derby.
When completed, the development will assist in addressing the growing demand for residential land in Derby and will provide a mix of lot sizes to provide a range of housing styles and choice that is more attuned to the current and likely future demographics of the town.
Copies of the plan are available for download below or for public viewing at either the Council’s Development Services Building, Loch Street Derby, or the Derby Municipal Library on Clarendon Street Derby.
The closing date for comment is 4.00pm Friday 15th August 2008.
All comment should be addressed to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Derby/West Kimberley PO Box 94 Derby WA 6728.

10th July 2008 PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2005 TOWN PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION SHIRE OF DERBY/WEST KIMBERLEY TOWN PLANNING SCHEME No.5 AMENDMENT No.8 Notice is given that the local government of the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley has prepared the abovementioned scheme amendment for the purpose of: 1. Rezoning Lot 1093 Yeeda Close from R12.5 to R50; and 2. Amending the Scheme Maps accordingly. Plans and documents setting out and explaining the scheme amendment have been deposited at Council’s Development Services Office in Loch Street, Derby and also at the Council Library in Clarendon Street, Derby and will be available for inspection during office hours up to and including Wednesday 20th August 2008. Partial Road Closures – Brown & Edgar Streets, Derby.8th July 2008 Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley, pursuant to section 58 (3) of the Land Administration Act 1997 proposes to close portions of Brown and Edgar Streets, Derby. The purpose of the closure is to rationalise the existing 40 metre wide road reserves down to 20 metres with the surplus land being amalgamated into the adjoining lots, being Lot 21 Fitzroy Street & Lot 5 Guildford Street, Derby to facilitate the future rezoning and residential subdivision of those lots. Details of the proposal are available for inspection at the Development Services Building – Loch Street, Derby or by downloading the files below. Submissions on the proposal should be received by the undersigned at PO Box 94 Derby WA 6728 by 4.00pm Friday 15th August 2008.
