Local Government Election 200718th September 2007 Notice of Elections Saturday 20th October 2007
Elections will be held on Saturday 20th October 2007 to fill five vacancies with a four year term for the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley. There are nine candidates to fill the five vacancies.
Candidates are as follows:
CHIEF POLLING PLACE:Shire of Derby/West Kimberley Council Chambers, 30 Loch Street Derby
OTHER POLLING PLACES:Shire of Derby/West Kimberley Library, Flynn Drive, Fitzroy Crossing 8am to 4pm
EARLY VOTING PLACES- Shire of Derby/West Kimberley Administration Office, 24 Loch Street
Derby 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday - Shire of Derby/West Kimberley Library, Flynn Drive, Fitzroy
Crossing 12noon to 4pm Monday to Friday - Pandanus Park Aboriginal Community
Monday 15 Oct 2007 9am - 10am (To be confirmed) - Looma Aboriginal Community
Monday 15 Oct 2007 12noon - 2pm (To be confirmed) - Wangakatjunga Aboriginal Community
Tuesday 16 Oct 2007 12 noon - 2pm (To be confirmed) - Yakanarra Aboriginal Community
Wednesday 17 Oct 2007 10am - 11am (To be confirmed) - Noonkanbah Aboriginal Community
Wednesday 17 Oct 2007 1.30pm - 2.30pm (To be confirmed)
Early VotingEarly voting will be open from Wednesday 19th September 2007 and closes at 4pm Friday 19th October 2007.
Absent VotingAbsent votes can be cast at any local government office in WA during office hours from Wednesday 19th September 2007 until 4pm Tuesday 16th October 2007.
Postal VotingYou can apply for a postal vote at a voting in person election using the prescribed FORM 12. An application can be made from 14th September 2007 and closing on 16th October 2007 for this election.
Need help to vote?Electoral staff or a person you trust (who is not one of the candidates or a scrutineer) can help you if you are incapacitated and not able to vote on your own.
Vote CountingMembers of the public and candidates are welcome to attend the counting of votes after 6pm on Saturday 20th October 2007 at the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley Council Chambers, 30 Loch Street, Derby.
