The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley will sadly be saying “farewell” to long term Manager of Fitzroy Crossing Belinda Storer at the end of January. Belinda has worked with the Shire in Fitzroy for eight years and seven in the role of Manager.

Shire President Geoff Haerewa wished Belinda all the very best into the future.

“On behalf of the Council of the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley I would like to recognise and acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our Fitzroy Manager Belinda Storer. Whilst it isn’t goodbye as Belinda and her family will be staying in Fitzroy, the Shire would like to thank Belinda for her hard work and commitment over her time with the Shire,

Belinda started with the Shire in early 2012, in the role of Customer Services Officer, and quickly rose to the challenge of Fitzroy Crossing Area Manager in 2013” said Cr Haerewa

Belinda has worked hard to deliver quality Shire services to the communities of the Fitzroy Valley and has built strong community partnerships during her time with the Shire. Belinda has been instrumental in the development of the Playground at the Oval amongst working on many other community projects. Belinda has been committed to improving the visitor experience in Fitzroy and the Kimberley region and has always had a focus on promoting our Aboriginal Heritage. This is evident through the recently painted murals and improvements to the Visitor Centre.

The Shire wishes Belinda and her family all the very best into the future.

The Shire will be working to recruit Belinda’s replacement over the coming weeks, in the meantime Staff at the Visitors Centre will attend to the Shire’s business as usual.
