120 people attended this year’s Australia Day Breakfast at the Sportsmen’s Club in Derby.
It was a fantastic day all round with four Shire of Derby/West Kimberley community members taking their pledges and officially becoming Australian citizens.
We also announced the winners of our Citizen of the Year awards. The winners included:
Senior Citizen of the Year – Fred Russ
Citizen of the Year – Kerry Leamy
Active citizenship award – Derby Rodeo Club
Young Citizen of the Year – Louise Albert
Congratulations to this year’s 14 nominees who have all been acknowledged by their local community as people that are making a positive impact within the Shire.
