By Valerie Lennard and Mark Norval

For the Warwa people, the act of spearing mud crabs is not only a means of obtaining food, but it is also a way to connect with their ancestral lands and traditions. The act of spearing mud crabs requires skill, patience, and knowledge of the environment. It is a way for the Warwa people to connect with their surroundings and understand the natural world around them.
