Unauthorised, deliberately lit fires can cause significant damage to people, property, businesses and the environment.

The Shire works closely with Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES) and WA Police to prevent unauthorised fires and investigating arson, with severe penalties if convicted. To report arson please contact WA Police directly (000) or by using the link:

Fires lit at the wrong time of year may have a lasting effect on the environment with seed banks, roots of plants, organic matter and soil erosion effecting ongoing regeneration of the environment.
