Council Plan

Welcome to the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley's Council Plan - our plan for the future. This year, we will be collaborating with our community and conducting a review of our existing Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan to create an integrated plan for our future. It involves engaging the community in planning for the future and involves setting priroities together, setting a clear strategic direction.

A plan for the future

Following a statutory change to the Local Government Act 1995, local governments are required to have an integrated Plan for the Future, incorporating a Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan. The Council Plan articulates the vision, outcomes and strategic priorities for the next 10 years based on our community's vision and outlines how priority projects will be delivered over the next few years.

Community Workshops - Work with us to plan our future

You are invited to attend a Community Workshop to have your say. The purpose of the workshop is to:

  • Provide an overview of recent findings from the 2025 MARKYT® Community Scorecard where community members shared their concerns and ideas for the future.
  • Review community suggestions and help to prioritise proposed actions to address local needs.

The workshops are open to all community members, community organisations and local businesses.

The workshops will be facilitated by an independent facilitator from CATALYSE® on behalf of the Shire of Derby / West Kimberley.

There are three workshops to choose from. To use Shire resources responsibly and give as many people as possible an opportunity to have their say, please only register for one workshop per person.  We will cover the same content in each workshop.
