Animal Traps
Animal Trap Agreement
Shire of Derby/West Kimberley provides cat and cane toad traps for community members to borrow to assist with the safe and responsible management of nuisance animals. A refundable $50.00 bond is required at the time of collection and traps may be borrowed for up to 14 days.
Borrowers are responsible for the care of the trap while it is in their possession and must ensure that all animals are treated humanely in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2002. Captured animals must be reported to Shire Ranger Services as soon as possible for safe collection. Please note that traps must not be set on Fridays, weekends, or public holidays.
To borrow a trap, please complete the Animal Trap Agreement form and lodge it with the Shire Administration.
