Notice to Patrons - Change of pool hours Fridays during February and March It's going to be a busy start to Term 1 at the Derby Memorial Swimming Pool with a number of swimming carnivals and events scheduled. These events are scheduled for Friday mornings and as a result the pool will be opening later than usual. See below for the pool opening hours on the affected days. Friday early morning swimming (5.30am to 7.30am) will continue as normal. Please note; the information below is current at the time of this post and may be subject to change. The four Kimberley Shires are united in their support for medical teams that are at the coal face of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of Tuesday 3 March 2020, two chickens in the Shire's sentinel chicken flock in Fitzroy Crossing have also had a positive detection of Murray Valley encephalitis. Please follow the steps below to minimise exposure to mosquitoes.

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley will sadly be saying “farewell” to long term Manager of Fitzroy Crossing Belinda Storer at the end of January. Belinda has worked with the Shire in Fitzroy for eight years and seven in the role of Manager.

VacSwim will be taking enrolments at the Derby Memorial Swimming Pool between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on 30 December 2019 for the program that commences 31 December 2019. More information from VacSwim at the pool.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 31 October 2019, Council approved the dates and times for the 2020 Council Meetings.

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley welcomed Paul White, Keith Bedford, Pat Riley, Rowena Mouda and Steve Ross as Councillors at a Special Council Meeting last night, following the Local Government Election on Saturday 19 October 2019.
