Kimberley Floods Community Recovery Quick Grants Program

To support community and not-for-profit organisations affected by the Kimberley Floods recover the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is offering cash grants of up to $1,500 to assist organisations meet the costs of recovery efforts.

Funding can be used towards meeting the costs of equipment and other consumables required for clean-up, replacing lost equipment, engaging services and other expenses related to flood recovery (that aren’t covered by insurance).

To be eligible organisations must deliver programs within the Shires boundary and can demonstrate how they have been impacted by the floods.

Community Grants Program

The Shire of Derby West/ Kimberley is dedicated to providing support to community groups and not-for-profit organisations. Through the Community Grants Program, the Shire seeks to provide support to community organisations to deliver their activities and projects. The Community Grants program has been designed to provide responsive and easily accessible assistance of up to $5,000.

Dates

Community Grants are open over four (4) funding rounds:

Funding Round 1 – Projects delivered from February onwards

Opens: 1 October
Closes: 31 December
Funds projects that commence from: 1 February

Funding Round 2 – Projects delivered from May onwards

Opens: 1 January
Closes: 31 March
Funds projects that commence from: 1 May

Funding Round 3 – Projects delivered from September onwards

Opens: 1 April
Closes: 30 June
Funds projects that commence from: 1 September

Funding Round 4 – Projects delivered from December onwards

Opens: 1 July
Closes: 30 September
Funds projects that commence from: 1 December

Funding Amount

Grants of up to $5,000 (ex GST) per financial year (subject to funding availability) can be provided to eligible organisations. The support awarded to an organisation may consist of financial or in-kind contributions.

Application Requirements

Applications for funding under the Community Grants Program are accepted at any stage throughout the financial year, subject to funding being available, however MUST be submitted at least eight (8) weeks prior to the project occurring. Applications which are not submitted within this timeframe will not be considered.

Applications are assessed by the Shire of Derby/ West Kimberley Community Development Team then approved by council at monthly council meetings.
