The Splash Park at the Derby Memorial Swimming Pool was closed following advice from the Department of Health that the preliminary results from routine monthly water sampling detected the presence of amoebae in the water.
A subsequent review of the Splash Park identified that a number of key equipment parts required replacement and the acquisition and installation of these parts has proven problematic.
The Splash Park remains closed whilst remediation actions take place in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Design, Construction, Operation, Management and Maintenance of Aquatic Facilities.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the community for their understanding and patience whilst we work to safely re-open the Splash Park facility.
The lap pool and toddler pool, remain fully operational and open to the public.
