IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE - CROCODILE SIGHTING
A credible account has emerged of a crocodile sighting off the jetty late Monday afternoon.
The crocodile was sighted off the Derby jetty between the large green shed and the boat ramp in the mangroves.
The crocodile is approximately three meters plus in length, and was spotted in shallow water close to the shore.
There is as yet no photograph of the crocodile, but the relevant authorities have been notified.
We urge the public to avoid the area while the sighting is investigated. A warning sign is now in place where the crocodile was spotted.
