The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is preparing for the transition of Port of Derby operations to the Kimberley Port Authority (KPA). This change aligns Derby with regional port governance and reduces the Shire’s operational risk and liability.
“We recognise the cultural, historical and community significance of the Derby Jetty,” Tamara Clarkson, Chief Executive Officer said. “Community access will continue throughout and after the transition.”
The Shire confirms that community and recreational access to the Port will continue. The transition relates to Port operations only.
