Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is pleased to share that the redevelopment of the Fitzroy Crossing Hall is continuing, with a focus on evacuation and accessibility, that will deliver a modern, fresh, and sustainable facility for the Fitzroy Valley community. The project aims to deliver a welcoming and functional space that supports community and civic events, provide better emergency response capability, while reflecting the evolving needs and aspirations of the local community and improved broader social outcomes for the region.

Tamara Clarkson, Chief Executive Officer said, “While the previous design far exceeded budget expectations, Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is committed to working with the community to refine plans and deliver a safe and affordable facility that is fit-for-purpose and meets community needs.”

To ensure community members, stakeholders and user groups have the opportunity to contribute to the vision, functionality and long-term direction of the Hall, Shire of Derby/West Kimberley will conduct a staged consultation process set commence soon.
