Shire of Derby / West Kimberley is currently reviewing our local laws and is inviting community members to share their thoughts, experiences and ideas.
When residents are involved in the process of developing or amending local laws, it helps us prepare laws that reflect the values and needs of our community.
Your input is a valuable part of this process and will be carefully considered as we look at potential changes. By providing feedback, you can help identify any gaps, unintended consequences, or practical challenges in the current laws.
Together, we can ensure that our local laws are fair, effective and responsive to the people they serve.

There are several ways to have your say. You can:
- Mail your submission to the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Derby / West Kimberley, PO Box 94, 6728, or
- Email your submission to the Chief Executive Officer at sdwk@sdwk.wa.gov.au
Public submissions close 4pm Monday, 16 March, 2026.
Following the close of the submission period, your feedback will be reviewed and presented to Council, who will decide whether to retain, repeal or amend each local law.
